Project

The planned project investigates the versatile use of glass as a key material in three innovative fields of application:

• Organ-on-a-chip – Development of glass-based microfluidic systems for replicating human organs for pharmaceutical and biomedical applications.
• Glass-based printed circuit boards (Glass-PCBs) – Use of glass as a substrate material for transparent, heat-resistant and high-frequency-capable electronics.
• Glass recycling – Development of sustainable processes for recycling and reprocessing glass for use in micro- and nanotechnologies.

The aim of the project is to establish glass as a sustainable high-performance material in biomedicine, electronics and the circular economy.
