Living materials systems require efficient energy and communication transport mechanisms. Nature has already provided a solution through fluid transport networks, but their full potential in living materials systems remains unexplored. My research focuses on studying fluid transport networks embedded in soft elastic media and investigating the role of the medium on transport properties. The goal is to understand how these networks and materials work together so that we can control and adapt the flow. Ultimately, this research aims to create flexible networks like those found in nature, allowing materials to respond and react in living materials systems.
