Project

AI²nterface – Advanced interfaces for modular livMats
Interfaces play a crucial role in both devices and materials. They can impact the durability and robustness of these components and are able to transfer information between different modules. Additionally, they have a significant influence on the recyclability of materials composed of various components. If it is possible to separate different components in materials at their interface, it will improve the sustainability of materials at the end of their life. The aim of this project is to investigate and develop chemical and physical concepts and mechanisms to control the adhesion and de-adhesion of interfaces by external triggers such as humidity, temperature or chemical reactions. We will create 3D objects into which specific adhesive strength and reversible adhesive pads can be incorporated during the printing process.
