First livMatS Colloquia in 2020

The cluster welcomes renowned international guests who highlight current research questions

Feb 19, 2020

On February 19th 2020, the livMatS Colloquium enters a new round. It will start with a lecture by physicist Prof. Dr. Michael Engel from the Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg on the topic "Self-Organization of Building Blocks into Functional Materials". Since autumn 2019, the livMatS colloquia have been bringing renowned international scientists to Freiburg to report on their field of expertise and deal with topics from the cluster's research areas.

The colloquium is part of the Ideasfactory@FIT concept with which the cluster wants to create a space of creative collaboration for its members. The colloquia provide young livMatS researchers in particular with the opportunity to further their education across disciplinary boundaries and to engage in dialogue with internationally renowned researchers.

The lectures are also open to all those interested. They take place regularly on Wednesdays from 16:00 to 17:15 in the FIT building on the campus of the Faculty of Technology.
