Hugo Oliveira Wins Second Best Talk Award at International Conference
The livMatS member places second with his talk about soft sensors in soft robotics at the international conference IFETC
Dr. Hugo Oliveira from the Cluster of Excellence Living, Adaptive and Energy-autonomous Materials Systems (livMatS) at the University of Freiburg has received the award for the second-best talk at this year's IEEE International Flexible Electronics Conference (IFETC) in Bologna. This prize represents the excellent work that Hugo Oliveira, Prof. Dr. Edoardo Milana, and colleagues at SoftLab in livMatS have conducted in the field of flexible sensors and soft robotics. livMatS aims to explore new frontiers in adaptive materials and living systems. By aligning their research with this goal, the scientists achieved a significant step forward in successfully integrating sensors into soft robots.
“The prize received shows that we are on the right path in implementing soft sensors into soft robots. It validates the potential of our research in soft robotics and the importance of flexible sensors for future applications,” says Hugo Oliveira.
The IFETC is an international conference focused on cutting-edge developments in printed, flexible, and sustainable electronics. Its broad spectrum encompasses material-related issues, theoretical considerations on device and material designs, and a variety of application scenarios.
