Coiling in attachment systems of tendril climbers
Within the framework of the research project “GrowBot” (EU-funded under the grant agreement No. 824074; www.growbot.eu). I am interested in how coiling in tendrils of climbing plants occurs and which forces are generated by this movement. For this purpose I investigate the anatomy, morphology and mechanical properties during the development of the tendrils of different species of passion flowers (Passifloraceae).
