Novel stimuli-responsive materials
My research focuses on the conception of novel stimuli-responsive reprocessable materials. First, I exploit known reversible photo-responsive reactions to design polymers which can be cleaved into their original oligomers and subsequently re-attached on demand through an orthogonal process and without the need of any chemicals. Additionally, I am developing photodegradable crosslinkers with dynamic properties, that can be attached onto polymers in order to increase their mechanical properties, and subsequently remove on demand through irradiation to ease their reprocessing. These original crosslinkers could be incorporated onto plastic waste and give these polymers a second life.
