Fluid transport in vascular networks
My project aims to investigate the behavior of a fluid confined in different tree-like symmetric elastic vascular networks in which vessels bifurcate into identical vessels. The aim of this work is to develop and use a fluid-dynamical model predicting velocity profiles and pressure waves of the fluid flow in the networks of flexible vessels. I want to achieve an optimized network morphology and optimized boundary conditions. In addition, I study the dynamic response for the elastic vessel networks and the effect of interaction between elastic veins on the fluid flow properties.
