Hybrid Plant - Living Multifunctional Materials In this project, I am developing miniature biohybrid machines inspired by plants that can operate in complex, unstructured environments. In the first phase, I will conduct an in-depth analysis of the morphology and biomechanics of selected plants using instruments such as microCT, electron microscopy and mechanical testing. The data obtained will serve as benchmarks for prototyping bioinspired hybrid machines on a small scale (ranging from centimeters to micrometers) using 3D printing techniques, including two-photon lithography and bioprinting. We can use these machines for targeted cargo delivery and monitoring of complex environments, such as aquatic habitats, with potential applications in the fields of soft robotics and precision agriculture.
