Synthesis of small molecules bearing two C,H-inserting moieties able to functionalize and crosslink polymers
My objective is to synthesize and characterize small molecules capable of functionalizing and crosslinking any polymer containing C-H bonds via the already known C,H-insertion chemistry. The main goal is to functionalize any polymer with C-H bonds to introduce moieties that can form 3D networks upon stimulation. These molecules can be functionalized and crosslinked by orthogonal stimuli (e.g., light and temperature) to control the functionalization before polymer crosslinking. In a second step, I will add cleavable moieties to these molecules to form reversible crosslinked networks.
