Coiling in attachment systems of tendril climbers
Im Rahmen des Forschungsprojekts “GrowBot” (gefördert durch die EU unter der Finanzhilfevereinbarung Nr. 824074; www.growbot.eu) untersuche ich, wie Spiralisierungen in Ranken von Kletterpflanzen gebildet werden und welche Kräfte durch diese Bewegungen entstehen. Dafür analysiere ich Anatomie, Morphologie und mechanische Eigenschaften während der Ranken-Entwicklung verschiedener Passionsblumen (Passifloraceae).
